As the product platform grew and we were focused on scaling creators and revenue, we needed to evolve beyond a "manual" approach to setting up content promotions between our bloggers and advertisers. We needed our own internal tool for streamlining the process of "reserving" content creators and creating a spec for the content desired by an advertiser. We needed a tool to manage the whole end-to-end process from spec, request, review, approval, and ultimately launch.
Since we had been doing this work manually for more than a year, my team and I quickly created workflows that mapped needed automation as well as a high quality user-experience for our creators that would provide efficiencies for them as well as tight connection with our planners.
We created models that would be familiar to campaign planners and ensured the design would scale beyond the expectations.
Fully cloud-based, we optimized user-tasks and a UX framework that could be built to be super simple and convey efficiencies to both Planners as well as Content Creators.
With an incredible amount of complex details to manage for each campaign, we created a "builder model" that kept necessary contextual information close to where users needed to access it -exactly where they entered it - like a "receipt" for a job.
Ultimately, the design followed the core Mode platform design - emphasizing simplicity and clarity.
Built for scale, we designed the experience to optimize for legibility and ease of information finding.
For both content creator as well as Planner, the user-experience was optimized to be very usable on mobile.
